Amy King, RVT -
Senior Veterinary Technician
Amy grew up in Milford, Iowa near Lake Okoboji. In September 1999, she received her Associate of Applied Sciences degree from the Medical Institute of Minnesota as well as her MN Certification. She worked at Cedarview Animal Hospital in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where she had completed her collegiate internship, before moving to the Des Moines area. She began work at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital and received her IA Certification in April 2001.
Amy, husband Rawley, daughter Elizabeth, and son Ethan share their home with "the 3 Felines:" Rudy, Buzz, and Ace. When she isn't busy at work or spending time with her husband and cats, she enjoys biking, swimming, and shopping.
Carissa Colvin, RVT -
Veterinary Technician
Carissa grew up in Dysart, Iowa and went on to obtain her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Kirkwood Community College in May 2008. While attending school, Carissa had the opportunity to work at the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center and intern at Iowa State University. After graduating, she joined the staff at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital. She is particulary interested in anesthesia.
Carissa has a cat named Holstein. When not at work, she likes to spend time with family and friends, read books, bake, and go on walks.
Mistee MARTIN, RVT -
Veterinary Technician
Mistee grew up in Horton, Iowa and went on to obtain her Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Veterinary Technology from Kirkwood Community College. Before joing the staff of Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in October 2005, she worked at Den Herder Veterinary Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa and Klein Animal Clinic in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Mistee shares two dogs, Jester and Shamee, and two cat, Milo and Kitano, with her husband Patrick. When she's not at work, Mistee enjoys walking or biking the trails, playing sand volleyball, shopping, outdoor concerts, I-Cubs games, and relaxing on their deck overlooking the lake.
Shannon Kurth, RVT
Veterinary Technician/Receptionist
Shannon grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa before obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Iowa State University in 1998. After graduation, she began working for an environmental consulting company. In 2002, Shannon went back to school, receiving her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Kirkwood Community College in May 2004. During college, she worked at Frey Pet Hospital and Edgewood Animal Hospital. She joined the staff of Jordan Creek in July 2004.
Shannon and her husband Sam have two cats, Gracie and George. She enjoys being outdoors, sleeping, going to movies, and playing with her cats.
Claudia Larson, RVT -
Veterinary Technician
Claudia, orginally from Lehigh, Iowa, obtained her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Des Moines Area Community College in May 2008. During college, Claudia gained experience at two central Iowa animal hospitals. After graduating, she became a full-time staff member at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital. She is particularly interested in dentistry and dental radiology.
Claudia and her boyfriend, Tony, have 2 cat's, Penelopie and Comet. In her free time, she enjoys painting, fishing, reading, cooking, listening to music, and being with family and friends.
Jodi Kincaid -
Veterinary Technician
Jodi grew up in the Des Moines area and received undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa before deciding to go back to school to pursue a career with animals. She earned a degree in Veterinary Technology from Des Moines Area Community College in May 2010 and worked part-time at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital while in school.
Jodi enjoys traveling, going to concerts and movies, and taking walks with her dog, Jazz.
