Iowa Veterinary Specialties provides medical and surgical services during the hours that Jordan Creek Animal Hospital is closed.  Hours are as follows:

Evenings

• Monday-Thursday: 5:30 PM -7:30 AM

Weekends

• Weekends:  5:30 PM Friday -7:30 AM
• Monday Holidays: 24 Hours

Holidays

• 24 hours Iowa Veterinary Specialties does not take appointments but asks that clients call before going to the clinic. They can be contacted at (515) 280-3051. Iowa Veterinary Specialties treats dogs, cats, and pocket pets.  Birds can be treated for certain injuries and illnesses only—it is suggested that you call if you feel your bird needs medical attention.

1. Go EAST on E.P. True Parkway
2. Continue on Railroad Avenue
3. Turn RIGHT on SW 63rd Street
4. Turn LEFT on Creston Avenue

Emergencies
Iowa Veterinary Specialties should be utilized only in the case of an emergency outside of JCAH business hours, including accidents and sudden illnesses:

• Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
• Persistent cough
• Persistent sneezing
• Pale gums
• Rapid, shallow breathing
• Excessive thirst
• Excessive urination
• Straining to urinate
• Abnormal nasal discharge
• Labored breathing
• Sudden, severe lameness
• Convulsive seizure
• Bitch in prolonged labor
• Suspected poisoning
• Bleeding Injury
• Abdominal bloating
• Hit by car
• Severe facial swelling and/or hives
